Many recipes of Ethiopian and Eritrean cooking extensively use Korarima /Black Cardamom. At mesob spice we use Korarima as an important ingredient in Berbere, Mitmita, Mekelesha and many other Mesob spice blends.
Korarima is hugely different in taste, smell and size to its smaller black and green relatives. It is obtained from the plant's seeds (usually dried). It is an ingredient in most of Habesha blends like berbere, mitmita, awaze, and other spice mixtures, and is used to flavour coffee as well.
The plant is native to eastern African countries like Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Uganda.
Not many spices carry the culinary versatility of korarima.
